Does renting enable a similar mechanic to “mining” but for XRP?

While it’s not a 1 to 1 comparison, as no new token is created, it does provide the ability for a user to take an action to receive tokenized value. While it’s not mining, it is kind of like treasure hunting, uncovering already unearthed value.
